Hi Chris,
Quick note to say, I installed your new version, but found there was a some fiddling to be done to get it all working - think, as you said, that it was a late night version and some of the path bits were good for you but not for me :), haven't had time to finish as am having to do lot of work for a client at the mo, but will come back when I have really looked at it.
Superficially it looks good and is easy to use.

Best,
rob

Hi Chris,

Can I test run your new v3.01 calendar?
I'm willing to pay a small fee (leave the price setting to you) as the demo looks very promising and we can use this calendar (partly due to it's basic functionality, less is more) very well in a project I'm running at the moment.

If you can give a date when you plan to release v3.x, that's fine too.

Hi,
I have sent you a pm with the zip file and some basic instructions.
As I mention in the message, the reason for the delay in releasing this version is time.
I want to make a proper website for the new calendar to be able to "present" it properly (docs, about, instructions, changelog etc) .
However the problem is that I am in the middle of a major client project that has to take preference (as it pays the bills).

That said, if anyone else specifically requests the script, I will send them the url to the zip file too.

As regards paying for it, as you probably know I give the script away for free in the hope that people might find it useful.
However recently I have done a couple of customised instalations and I have charged for those.

That said, as always, donations are happily accepted :)

Thanks for bearing with me :)

Hi there, sent you a pm with the link.

Sorry, I thought that I had sent you this before :( I am getting confused between my forum members.

Let me know how it goes and what you think :)

Hi Chris,

A two fold post, first off, could you email me a zipped copy of the files to have a go with? I live v2, but like v3 even more :D. We have a holiday house which we rent out in France and I'm looking for an availability calendar.

As for charging that's a very good question, and a tricky one. There are quite a few chargeable calendars out there, hence there's obviously a market although I don't know of what size. I'm sure you could compete admirably though.

As a slightly different idea though, how about allowing free download once people have completed some sort of survey for you. The survey would aim to give you some general knowledge about 'who' the market is, how they plan to use it and what their future internet plans are. It's needs more thought than the 2 minutes I've given it, however, it just may be that the calendar could be a trojan horse into business opportunities of a far greater total value than revenue from the calendar as a stand alone product could. If after analysing the data you don't see an opportunity, or an opportunity that you want, then review things.

Thanks,
Richard
