Anyway, the version changes have only been to add new features and to fix the odd bug. There was never any security issues.

I have taken a quick look and it looks as though the path to your background image is incorrect.

Those are simply the dates of the previous and next months. Their only purpose is to fill the gaps and give a hint of the months either side.

From the image it looks like the path is wrong for the CSS and JavaScript files etc.
This is defined in your calendar admin > config panel
