Installed, logged in but cannot modify/add stuff

Postby flu » Thu Oct 06, 2011 4:20 pm

Hi there, the script looks great and I wanted to try it.
Installed it like it said in the docs and everything seems to be okay.
Database tables created, logged in with default settings.

But if I want to edit something and try to save it, nothing changes.
As if there is nothing send to the database?!

Any hints? I tried to reinstall without the "DEFAULT CHARSET" stuff or changed the files from $_REQUEST to GET/POST. But it didnt help.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
It is pretty hard to know what is going on without seeing an url.
Are you getting any error messages? (php, mysql or JavaScript)

If you send me a pm with your admin url and login details I will take a look.

The only message I see is the popup in the lower right corner "Item not modified" or something like that.

I will PM the URL.

Ah, I see that you have added a new language.
Have you added this "properly" ? - ie via the language admin panel?
If you don't do this the code will stop working as the database also has to be modified when you add a new language.

I kinda "fixed it" after checking several threads here and saw you have to add the language via the panel.

Besides that: deleting a language ("ES") isn't possible via the admin interface. Had to remove it via FTP.

Hopefully it will work now.
Thanks for taking the time!
