I stumbled on this when I added a re-direct (header) on an email processing script, once the browser went to the thank_you.php page the www was lost (relative link) and the problem began. Simple solution is to ensure that all links to your calendar page are absolute and contain the www eg. http://www.domain.com.au/calendar.

Can anyone else confirm this?

By the way thanks for the excellent script Chris.

Joe

Just tried it on my home laptop running firefox 3.6.16 with no problem with or without www in the url. The computer at work was running Firefox 4, maybe just a coincedence. :?:

Hi Chris,

I have been experiencing the same problem as everyone else on this issue. I read Joe's post and just tried his suggestion of including the www. in the url address and it now works perfectly. I am using FireFox 3.6.16. Hope this helps you find the problem.

Thanks for everyone's input,

This is crazy!

It worked last night with Joe's suggestion.

Tried it this morning and am now getting this error:
/home/bransonm/public_html/calendar/ac-contents/lang/.lang.php not found
and that's using the absolute path with the http://www

I love the calendar. Hope we can get this resolved.

Do you have an url?
Also, if you send me ftp details in a pm I might be able to take a look.
I can't see how having or not having "www" in the url should make any difference.

Hi Chris,

I'll have a url ready to be viewed in a few days.
I did discover that it doesn't really seem to be anything with the http://www.domainname.com or just the http://domainname.com.

Every time I have had this issue I have cleared my cache and deleted the cookies for http://www.mydomainname.com and then everything works fine.

I am using FireFox 3.6.16
I'll have the site ready in a few days and then send you the link.

Thanks,
Darrel

I think that I have worked this out and I must admit to it being due to a silly mistake in my login code (or so I believe)
Once the user has been validate, the code creates a series of session variables, one of which is the language variable. However I have the code set to read the $_REQUEST["lang"] value. This is fine on many servers however some more secure servers do not allow $_REQUEST. So, the code *should* use $_POST.

Open ac-admin/admin-login.admin.php
Find this line (ln 18):
Code: Select all
$_SESSION["admin_lang"]   =   $_REQUEST["lang"];

and replace with this:
Code: Select all
$_SESSION["admin_lang"]   =   $_POST["lang"];

Let me know if that sorts it out.
