problems with popup calender, issues

Postby jac » Fri Oct 29, 2010 5:40 pm

Hi, I have a guest house and I'm using your wonderful calender, it really helps me out, and makes my life easier, but.... I have a huge problem, my calender have 3 months in a row and only show up to June 11, but the rest is under the start menu of windows, because not all people have big screens, on my 23" screen, it shows up perfect, but on my 14" laptop screen, not he same story...and alot of people complain that they cant se my dates from below June 11

#1 . So how can I get more months in a row to fit in everything on my screen

and

#2 . How can I separate the my 2 calenders and place it separately on each house webpage, because people dont always know that there's a drop down menu that they can select from my 2 houses

thx
please help

Hi,
#1 . So how can I get more months in a row to fit in everything on my screen

You just need to play around with the css widths to get it to fit.
The main styles to look at for the overall container layer are:
#cal_wrapper
#the_months

#2 . How can I separate the my 2 calenders and place it separately on each house webpage, because people dont always know that there's a drop down menu that they can select from my 2 houses

I assume that you are using the iframe method to show the calendar. If so, you can simply append the "id_item" of each calendar to the url i.e. /calendar/index.php?id_item=4.

ok, I'm having some problems right now, right now, I have 2 calenders..

If I use the following

index.php?id_item=1
index.php?id_item=2
index.php?id_item=3
index.php?id_item=5
index.php?id_item=6
index.php?id_item=7
this shows up my first calender

index.php?id_item=4
this shows up my second calender

why does it do that?

I messed around with this file:
\calender\ac-admin\css\admin.css

and nothing happens, so I'm not a expert in php or anything, lol man, and there might be alot of
#cal_wrapper
#the_months

somewhere in the calender, it would help to know which one to work with, lol

index.php?id_item=1
index.php?id_item=2
index.php?id_item=3
index.php?id_item=5
index.php?id_item=6
index.php?id_item=7
this shows up my first calender

index.php?id_item=4
this shows up my second calender

I don't really understand what you are doing there :(
You simply need to add the id of the "item" that you want to show.
So, if you want to show the calendar that has id 4 your do "index.php?id_item=4".

Regarding the css styles, you need to look in the calendar css style sheet which can be found with this path (or similar, it depends on your actual setup):
/calendar/ac-contents/themes/default/css/avail-calendar.css

but that ID thing, how do I know what id my calender have?

becuase like I try to explain ealier,

http://www.mydomain.com/calender/index. ... ?id_item=1
http://www.mydomain.com/calender/index. ... ?id_item=2
http://www.mydomain.com/calender/index. ... ?id_item=3
http://www.mydomain.com/calender/index. ... ?id_item=5

Why do you say that it is tricky? All you need to do is adjust the "width" within the style sheet to fit your needs, isn't it?

The code "needs" an id so, if it doesn't get one or if the id sent doesn't exist I think (sorry, I haven't got time to look closer at the moment) it defaults to id 2.

All you need to do is identify the id's of your 2 calendars and pass those (one per calendar) to the calendar script.

its tricky because I'm just to visual editing (drag and drop and maybe code tweaking) and not coding, hehe

How can I remove that drop down box on the top part that shows up calender, because I need to make space for those people with the small screens, because its still getting cut of at the button part, I have managed to to get 4 month next to each other.. :-)

the thing with the id's. I dont know what id my calender have, but in settings it says "External Item ID" all is 0

EDIT : I've mananed to get the real id's

its 3 and 4. I got it after viewing page source on my calender using firefox

<select name="id_item" class="select" onchange="this.form.submit();">
<option value="3">House1</option><option value="4">House2</option>
