ERROR SELECTING THE DATABASE TABLE

Hello Chris,

I am trying to install your booking calender but get the following error message:

ERROR SELECTING THE DATABASE TABLE

The script has been unable to select the database table.
Please check that you have modified the config.inc.php file with your data.
___________

I did check the config.inc.php file and everything looks OK. I created the relevant mysql database but apparently the install script is unable to create the table. What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,
Without actually seeing the code in action and having access to your server, it is hard to know what is going wrong

Can you access the database via myphpadmin?

If so, try executing this sql directly there to create the calendar database table:

CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `bookings_calendar` (
  `id` int(10) NOT NULL auto_increment,
  `id_item` int(20) NOT NULL default '0',
  `the_date` date NOT NULL default '0000-00-00',
  `state` char(3) NOT NULL default 'all',
  PRIMARY KEY  (`id`),
  KEY `id_item` (`id_item`)
) DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=1 ;

That is basically what the install script does (in version 2) so I don't know why it might be causing you problems

If you still have problems, you can send me a pm and I can try to look further into the problem (you would need to give me ftp access to do this)

I have solved the problem. It turned out to be a simple typo, I am ashamed to admit. Thanks for you quick response and support.
