I think I followed all the instructions but this is the result:

Hi,
You are getting that message because *something* is wrong with your database connection data.
Check that all your database details are correct.

Maybe a stupid question, but where do I check my database details?
(in what file?)

On that link that you posted there is an error message and a link to the install script.
If you click on that (which presumably you have done already) you will be taken to the install page. On that page you can see the database details that you have already defined.
One (or more) of those must be incorrect. You need to check them with your hosting control panel.

OK! so far so good. It works.
Now I want to change the username "admin" and the password "demo" into my own.
Where can I change these?

Within the admin panel click on the "users" icon, then the "edit" icon from the list of users (you will only have one user by default).
Change the user name and password and click on the "save" button.
