Easy way to secure the admin (edit) page?

Easy way to secure the admin (edit) page?

Postby newbie1896 » Wed May 21, 2008 10:43 pm

Hi Chris!

I love the calendar; it's very easy to set up and use. I have a quick question:

How do you secure the admin page where you change the dates that are available?

I have gone the simple route and created 2 index pages called index.php which allows edits and index2.php which is only the viewable calendar. How do I go about securing my index.php page so that not everyone has access to change the dates?

Thanks so much!

Hi there, welcome to the forum and thanks for the comments :)

As you know, I have not provided any admin for this calendar script as my original intention was for it to be a demo or base code for developers to use as a starting point for integrating it into their webs or applications.
That said, I am planning on releasing a future, possibly premium, version that will have this and many more features.

So as to be able to block the admin version of you calendar from public eyes there are several methods, but basically they all consist of protecting the calendar with a password.
Here are some links for basic file protection that might help you:

I hope those (which I found via google) will help set you on your way ;)
